Fattening cattle: control density to enhance ventilation

Suitable environment

In a climate with high humidity and high temperature, we must first create a dry, clean and quiet environment to ensure the safety of fattening cattle. In the summer, it is necessary to minimize the time for the fattening cattle to bask in the sun. During the period from 10 to 18 o'clock, the activities of the fattening cattle should be reduced as much as possible.

Scaffolding shading

In the summer, cool the sheds on the top of the barn and the playground. To prevent direct sunlight, vines such as grapes and loofah can be planted. If necessary, a layer of straw, wheat straw and other heat insulation materials can be added on the top of the barn. The walls of the cowshed can be painted with a layer of fresh lime slurry to reduce the sunlight's radiation to the cowshed.

Reasonable density

The breeding density of fattening cowsheds in the summer should not be too large, and the area occupied by each cow should be increased.

Ventilation cooling

Mechanical ventilation cooling. Use mechanical ventilation or other forced ventilation measures to eliminate the foul air in the cowshed and reduce the temperature of the cowshed. In the hot weather with little or no wind, it can be switched on and ventilated. If necessary, electric fans or large exhaust fans should be used. However, the use should be reasonable. The large exhaust fan should be installed on the north wall so that the wind can blow the cattle body and the temperature can be reduced by 2°C-3°C. .

Natural ventilation cooling. When the sky is hot, all the doors and windows of the cowshed and the vent hole must be opened to remove the obstacles around them, promote air convection, and ensure unobstructed ventilation.

Spray water to cool down. Water splashing on the ground (or inside) of the cattle stadium; cooling water at the top of the cowshed; after 12 o'clock noon, spray cold water sprayed from the well with a high-pressure sprayer to spray every 2 hours to 4 hours. Once, the temperature in the house can be reduced by about 5°C. In the summer, it is also possible to hang curtains at the air inlets of cowshed doors and windows to make the air cool. If there is a awning outside the windows and doors, the cooling effect will be better.
