NVIDIA is optimistic about these five medical artificial intelligence startups

According to VentureBeat, as part of the Nvidia Inception project, Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun hosted a campaign last week. He and a team of experts selected 14 of the best AIs from more than 2,000 AI startups in three categories. Startups, winners will share $1.5 million in cash at the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference on May 10.

The judges of the event included Gavin Baker, investment manager of Fidelity Investments, Tammy Kiely, global head of Goldman Sachs' investment banking business, Shu Nyatta, Softbank Group investor, Thomas Laffont, senior director of Coatue Management, and Prashant Sharma, global chief technology officer of Microsoft Accelerator.

Jeff Herbst, vice president of business development at NVIDIA, said NVIDIA hopes to create a meaningful award to showcase the amazing work of a good AI startup. There will be one winner in each category, which will receive $375,000 and the runner-up in each category will receive $125,000.

At present, NVIDIA is screening the five “AI-influenced” AI start-up companies from more than 600 contestants, all of whom are in the medical field.

1, Genetesis (heart disease detection AI company)

At present, there are 10 million emergency room visits per year in the United States due to chest pain, and the cost is as high as $6.6 billion. However, it is difficult for the emergency room to distinguish between heart-related pain.

Geneesis CEO Peeyush Shrivastava said that Genetesis is using deep learning, sensors and physics to correctly diagnose chest pain. Usually, you have to connect to an electrocardiograph (EKG), but the results are not deterministic, so you have to do a 6-hour troponin test. But the results are not deterministic, so you may need to do some other tests. The whole process takes hours, and doctors often let patients observe more.

However, approximately 5% of patients were sent home and no heart disease was diagnosed. Another 2% of patients died at home. At the same time, approximately $494 million was spent on inappropriate pressure testing.

According to Shrivastava, Genetesis has created a test based on a biomagnetic imaging system that monitors the weak magnetic field naturally emitted from the chest. It produces a 3D heart map to tell the doctor if you have heart disease. The nurse or technician can evaluate the patient in a non-invasive manner within 90 seconds to determine if the patient needs treatment.

The system uses GPU-accelerated AI for diagnostics, and biomagnetic imaging can be applied to other tests such as brain, liver, and fetus. The system creates thousands of 1D resolution 3D maps for patients.

Genetesis was founded in Cincinnati in September 2013 with approximately 15 employees and raised $1.9 million from companies such as Mark Cuban, CincyTech, Wilson Sonsini, Danmar Capital and 43 North.

Greenhouse Sun-Shading System

Sun-Shading Net is a series of colored shade nets with special optical properties which improve the utilization of solar radiation by agricultural crops. This technology promotes differential stimulation of desirable physiological responses, which determine the commercial value of each crop. This is an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to current labor-consuming methods (such as pruning and thinning) and intensive use of growth regulators and other chemicals. ChromatiNet enables growers to control vegetative growth characteristics, such as leaf size, branch length and plant height in plants, as well as the rate of maturation and flowering. This enables adaptation to market preferences, with clear economic advantages.

Greenhouse Sun-Shading System can reduce solar load, and cool down the inside temperature and create a comfortable environment for the plants.
