Troubleshooting routine maintenance of SPECTRO M9 direct reading spectrometer

This article mainly introduces the author's routine maintenance during the use of photoelectric direct reading spectrometer and the troubleshooting methods for general faults.

1. Elimination of faults in daily use
(1) The excitation site of the sample is white, and there is no black halo, which is a condition in which the excitation is incomplete.
Fault analysis and elimination: We believe that argon gas impureness can not meet the test requirements. Because the sample analysis was normal before the replacement of the new argon gas, after a long period of argon flushing and continuous excitation of the waste sample, the fault still exists. The argon gas was replaced again, the waste sample was flushed and excited, and when the sample was analyzed, the fault disappeared and the analysis was normal. After solving multiple similar failures in the work, it was found that the excitation was incomplete, mainly because the purity of argon was insufficient.
(2) "The following reference line (s) exceeds it's intensity - limits!" one by one - Fe 3187.7 (1).
Fault analysis and elimination: The baseline intensity of Fe is too high or too low, generally due to poor argon gas, contamination of the sample surface or long running time of the instrument. If the light intensity drops, you need to modify the intensity limit (Low limit and High limit) under the Reference in the Line parameters of the method window.
(3) The sample excitation is incomplete, and the content of C element detection is much higher than the actual content.
Fault analysis and elimination: In the summer work, the sample excitation was found to be incomplete, and the content of C element detection was much higher than the actual content. After excluding other factors, we considered the effect of excessive ambient temperature. Turn on the air conditioner and adjust the room temperature to about 25 degrees, and then excite the sample. The detection results of each element are accurate and the fault is solved. Therefore, when the season changes, when the temperature changes greatly, try to keep the indoor temperature constant of all working environments of the instrument, and do the standardization in time to correct the curve.

2, regular maintenance
(1) Check before daily operation
1 After starting up, excite the sample with higher alloy content and check the purity of argon.
2 The argon pressure should be greater than 15 atmospheres to check for leaks.
3 Check whether the excitation spot is normal. The general center should be sparkling and black around.
4 for standardization. If the operator believes that the results of the excitation standard analysis are stable, the standardized data of the previous class can be used.
5 Clean the spark table before or after each shift. Make sure the light source switch is off before cleaning. Loosen the four knurled screws on the spark plate, remove the platen and gasket or ring, and carefully remove the quartz sleeve and quartz spacer. This allows the inside of the spark table to be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.
(2) Monthly maintenance
1 Clean the argon exhaust plastic tube.
2 Replace the water in the two water bottles. The water surface height is maintained at about 12-14 cm, and it is replaced in time after water pollution.
3 Scrub the quartz window on the right side of the spark table. First, remove the front arc cover of the instrument, remove the window counterclockwise (note the type and position of the gasket in the window), wipe it with alcohol, lens paper, and absorbent cotton. After the alcohol has evaporated, install it in the original position. .
4 Replace the electrode. Unscrew the pole gauge on the front of the spark table and use a special Allen key to unscrew it counterclockwise and replace it with a new one.
(3) Maintenance every six months
1 Clean the dust of the instrument.
2 Replace the air filter. The filter cover is cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, or it can be washed in the basin for several times and then put on the detergent. The water is washed for a while and dried. The entire process should be carried out after shutdown. At SPECTROI. During the use of the AB M9 photoelectric direct reading spectrometer, we found that the probability of failure of the device itself is small, and mainly some changes in external factors are likely to cause some failures in the analysis process.
