4. In patients with acute inflammation, conjunctival edema, hemorrhage, and even eyelid swelling can occur.

5. Long-term chronic inflammation can occur papillary hyperplasia, follicular formation, conjunctival epithelial tissue proliferation, nipple hypertrophy.

6. Viral conjunctivitis can also cause preauricular lymphadenopathy and can invade the cornea to form ulcers.

treatment

1. Local treatment

(1) Rinse the conjunctival sac. Its function is mainly clean. Normally, it is physiological saline, 2% to 3% shed acid solution or 1:5000 to 1:10000 liters of mercury (or potassium permanganate) solution.

(2) Do not cover the affected eye because of conjunctivitis secretion, if the affected eye cover, secretions are not easy to discharge, and pooled in the conjunctival sac; and cover the conjunctival sac temperature will increase, more conducive to bacteria Propagation increases conjunctivitis.

(3) topical antibiotics or antiviral eye drops According to etiological diagnosis, select the appropriate treatment drugs. Commonly used 0.5% ~ 1% silver nitrate, eye drops when the eye drops, the eye drops on the palpebral conjunctiva, eye drops after a moment to stop, that is, rinse with saline. Or use a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of liquid, applied to the conjunctiva surface, then rinse with saline.

2. Systemic treatment

For severe conjunctivitis, such as gonococcal conjunctivitis, trachoma, etc., need to be combined with systemic medication.
