Twenty-eight-star ladybug is a Coleoptera. Adults and larvae can eat potato leaf flesh and leave the epidermis to form a translucent shape. In severe cases, the whole field is scorched and the plants are dry and die. Adults are suspended, hemispherical, yellow-brown, and have four small black spots on the front chest plate. There are 28 star-shaped dark spots on the two wing sheaths, and the surface is densely yellowish-brown and short. The larvae are pale yellow, with 6 branches in the back of the body, and pale yellow markings on the base of the branches. The 1st instar larvae are clustered, disperse after 2 years of age, increase in age and increase in food intake.

Prevention and treatment methods:

(1) When the adult is in full bloom, artificial killing is performed using the suspended animation, and the egg mass is removed.

(2) Before the larvae disperse the hazard, use 90% trichlorfon 75g or 80% dichlorvos 100g or 50% phoxim 50g per acre, respectively, spray 75 kg of water. Always spray on the back of the leaves when spraying.
