Early Spring Geese Notes

Pay attention to choosing goslings

Healthy goslings appear as thick, clean, shiny fluff. The yolk absorbed well and the umbilical cord contracted completely. No umbilical nails, no edema around the umbilicus. Lively and lively, eyes are flexible and godly, responsive, and loud. When you hold your neck in your hand and pick up the goslings, your feet can quickly contract and struggle, and the young goslings can be turned upside down and stand up quickly. Abdomen, blood umbilicus, big navel, stomping, blinking, steamed bread and other weak broodstock, deformed chicks, diseased chicks can not be used.

Pay attention to thorough disinfection

Before brooding, the brooding room must be completely sterilized. Normally 15 ml of formalin solution and 75 g of potassium permanganate are used for fumigation and disinfection for 24 hours per cubic meter of space. The ground is sprayed with antivirus (or other disinfectant) at a concentration of 1:200. The stocking site is filled with 20% lime milk. Or 3% caustic soda water spray disinfection; equipment cleaning after exposure or chemical disinfectant spilled and disinfected; brooding rooms that once raised poultry can be used 20% lime milk splash paint wall disinfection.

Attention to insulation

Goslings are very sensitive to changes in temperature, especially cold resistance. Insulation conditions directly affect the survival rate of goslings, so the winter and spring season must be strictly controlled the appropriate temperature. Generally, the temperature is 30 to 28 degrees at the beginning, and then decreases by 2 degrees every week. When the temperature drops to about 20 to 18 degrees, the temperature can be gradually defrosted and kept at room temperature. Goslings show appropriate temperatures: lively goslings, smooth and neat feathers, evenly spread around the brooding stalls, eating and drinking water, and can rest quietly. If goslings are piled up, crowded together, or crowded at a heat source, the fluff is erected and long, sharp calls are made, indicating that the temperature is too low; if the goslings are kept away from heat, they breathe faster, frequently drink water, and appetite. Drops, high and short whistling from time to time cause restlessness and difficulty falling asleep, indicating that the temperature is too high. Found that the above abnormal conditions should immediately adjust the temperature. The method of heat preservation includes a sawdust furnace, a coal furnace, an underground flue, an electric umbrella, an infrared light bulb, a hot plate, and the like, which can be selected according to specific conditions or applied.

Pay attention to moisture

Humidity and temperature also have a great impact on the health of goslings, and both work together. Low temperature and high humidity cause body heat to dissipate quickly, which can easily cause colds, diarrhea and beating, resulting in the death of dead geese, geese and goslings; high temperature and high temperatures cause body heat to dissipate, and loss of appetite. At the same time, high temperatures and high humidity can easily cause the germs to multiply, causing the incidence of goslings to rise. High humidity is a big taboo for brooding. Therefore, do not spill during indoor water feeding. Clean the floor regularly and change the litter to keep it dry. The relative humidity in the brood room is between 60% and 70%.

Attention to ventilation

The goslings have a high metabolism and emit a large amount of carbon dioxide and feces. They produce harmful substances such as water vapor and ammonia. They need to be discharged in time to keep the air fresh. Otherwise, goslings can cause ammonia poisoning. To this end, it is necessary to strengthen ventilation in the brooding room. Ventilation should take place at noon on sunny days. First increase the room temperature by 1 to 2 degrees, and then slowly open the doors and windows, be careful not to let the wind blow directly to the goslings to avoid cold.

The breeding density of goslings is closely related to the movement of the goslings, the air in the brood chamber, and the indoor temperature. Excessive breeding density is not conducive to growth and development, and is susceptible to bad habits such as feathering and toeing. When the density is too low, the utilization rate of the brooding room is reduced. The reasonable rearing density is: When one week is old, 25 animals are raised per square meter area. With the growth of goslings, the stocking density is constantly adjusted. When the age is one month, 4 to 5 animals are raised per square meter, and at the same time, the breeding The geese hit the heap and die, crush, and are conducive to the growth and uniformity of the goslings. They should often be grouped according to their size and strength. Generally, 50 to 100 animals per group are suitable.

Pay attention to the heap

Goslings originally like to gather into piles. In cold winter and spring seasons, they are easier to pile up and cause pressure to die. To this end, on-duty observations should be strengthened and geese should be rushed to fight at any time.

Pay attention to ensure sleep

Sufficient sleep is one of the important conditions for the healthy growth of young goslings. Insufficient sleep causes loss of appetite, indigestion, weight loss, and retarded growth. Therefore, in addition to proper exercise, goslings should be allowed to rest and sleep. In order for the goslings to sleep deep, the light in the brooding room should be dark and the environment should be quiet.

Pay attention to tide and open food

The goslings start eating 24 hours after hatching. Drink water before eating, known as the tide mouth. The water in the tide mouth should be clean, add 0.05% potassium permanganate or a small amount of glucose and vitamins to the drinking water, which will help clean up the gastrointestinal tract, stimulate appetite, excrete meconium, and absorb nutrients. The temperature of drinking water should be around 26 degrees. After feeding at the tide mouth, the first feeding is called "opening food". You can use fresh succulent green fodder and goslings for the full price, and mix them in 2:1. Incorporate appropriate amount of water until it is squeezed and let go. If you want to eat, do not ask for goslings. Feed 1 to 3 days of age 4 to 5 times a day, feed 6 to 9 times daily after 4 days of age, and feed 2 to 3 times at night. To do regular, quantitative, less feeding Tim, each time to feed 7 ~ 8 into fullness is appropriate

Pay attention to grazing and watering

Grazing and water release can promote the metabolism of goslings, enhance physical fitness, and increase resistance and adaptability. However, the goslings did not adapt to the external environment well before the big feathers, and the fluff lacked water resistance. Therefore, the goslings in the winter and spring seasons are advised to start grazing and water-discharging after one week of feeding, and grazing and water discharge should be selected on sunny, windless days to avoid cold and rainy weather. Grazing begins when the distance is short, the time is short, and the walk is slow.

After a few days of grazing, the water can be combined and the goslings can be rushed to a clean, shallow place where they can freely go into the water, swim, and wash their fluff. They must not be forced into the water to prevent cold and cold.

Pay attention to animal protection

The major pests are rats, followed by cats and dogs. The main measure to prevent animal pests is to eradicate rodents uniformly before brooding. Block indoor and outdoor size holes, brooding room door. Windows should be blocked with a nylon net or wire mesh, and the door and window should be closed in and out of the brooding room. Usually, on-duty care should be strengthened.

We must also pay attention to other issues such as prevention and treatment of diseases.
