Because sweet potatoes will only bloom when the light is shortened, it is possible to suppress flowering by supplementing light. Even in summer, when it encounters continuous cloudy days, it needs to increase by about 4 hours a day. 4. Fruiting period management Different from the conventional sweet potato cultivation technology, the sweet potato tree needs to be compressed in the air. One month after the sweet potato tree is transplanted, the vine can be pressed to set the fruit. The nutrient soil must be prepared first, and the perlite, vermiculite, and grass charcoal ash should be mixed evenly at a ratio of 1:1:1 and then put into the hanging basin. Then choose the sturdy vine, pull the vine down about ten centimeters, remove the leaves, hang the hanging pot on the grid, bury the vine in the nutrient soil about two to three centimeters, and then water it thoroughly. After that, water it every other week to satisfy the growth of potato chunks. 5. Pest control Since the cultivation of sweet potato trees is carried out in facility conditions, and the sweet potato itself is relatively disease-resistant, disease generally does not occur. When pests occur, biological control and yellow board traps are generally used. 6. Picking The sweet potatoes can be picked in a month or so, and two people are required to cooperate in the picking. Use scissors to cut along the bottom of the pot. After cutting, gently remove the nutrient soil with your hands. Then cut along the roots of the potato tubers one by one to remove all the fibrous roots. Finally, put the vines that have grown on the potato back on the grid. Just keep growing on it.
